Farewell, Fall 2012 Classes!

For me, the end of the semester is always bitter-sweet. Like students, professors get tired, too, and look forward to the end of the semester to rest and catch up on other things.

But I also feel some sadness because the semester is over. I genuinely miss my students, and this semester is no different.

There will come a time -- very soon, I suspect -- when something will happen in current events that is related to a media law topic, and for a brief moment, I will think to myself, "I can't wait to share this with... oh, wait." I will miss you!

It's been a fun semester. I hope you have enjoyed the class and take what you have learned with you where ever you go.

Also, I want to thank you for doing your part to make this a fun semester by reading and posting comments on this blog, participating in class discussions, emailing me your questions and links to interesting news stories, and joining me in the Facebook study group. Using Facebook in that way was completely new for me this semester, and with your help, it worked out very well. I plan to use it in future classes.

Congratulations to those graduating -- I hope you keep in touch. And for those who will be around next year, I hope you stop by and visit from time to time. Best wishes for a great winter break.

I also hope you'll join me in remembering one of your classmates -- Erika Esquina. She started the media law journey with us, but will not be finishing it. Perhaps she is on another journey. I hope that her family and friends find some solace in their cherished memories of Erika.

Rest in peace, Erika.
