Good luck, Spring 2011 classes!

Was it just me or did this semester fly by?

This is always a bitter-sweet time of the semester for me. I'm grateful that the semester is over and I'm looking forward to a break, but I'll also be genuinely sad when some big news event occurs -- such as the announcement of the decision in Schwarzenegger v. Entertainment Merchants Association -- I won't have a class to discuss the decision.

I hope when the decision is announced that you'll think fondly of the media law class. More importantly, I hope you take from this class the critical thinking skills needed to process and understand Supreme Court decisions and other issues involving the topics from media law.

We've talked about a wide range of topics, and though it's been challenging at times, I hope you enjoyed it.

I also hope that you keep in touch and let me know where life takes you. I hope you check out the blog from time to time.

For those that are interested in the Supreme Court, you may be interested in an Internet resource that my honors class created this semester. They wrote biographies of the current justices and of a handful of retired justices. They also included an article about the building and a brief history of the court. They included their personal impressions as well. Click here for the link.

Thanks for a great semester.

Best wishes!

It was a great class! Easily in the top 5 of my favorite classes in my time at Texas State.
