Thanks very much for an intense five weeks of Media Law instruction! I appreciated your attention, participation and hard work in the class.
One thing I noticed during our summer session was the number of news stories that involved some aspect of Media Law. There was the police car dash-cam and the issue of whether it was ethical for the San Marcos Daily Record to post it on their Facebook page. There was also the unfortunate vandalism involving hate speech at an apartment complex.
Did you hear about the viral hashtag on social media that resulted in nearly 2,000 people at another apartment complex pool in San Marcos earlier this week? I must not be following the right people on social media because I totally missed out! But check out the hefty fine that the apartment faces: http://www.kvue.com/story/news/local/2014/07/02/viral-hashtag-draws-thousands-to-unpermitted-pool-party/12116905/
I also noticed that a number of you shared some very personal stories in class and on this blog. I greatly appreciated your sensitivity and trust in sharing these stories with me and the class.
For those that submitted a class critique essay, thank you for that. I look forward to reading your constructive criticism of the course. These essays help me improve to make the best learning experience I can deliver.
Best wishes to the graduates -- I hope you keep in touch. And if you're still around Old Main for another semester or two, I hope you visit me from time to time and let me know how you're doing. Don't forget to drop the Media Law gang sign.
Have a great rest of the summer!

Thanks for the great class, and setting us up for success. Roy and I just looked at our exam 3 grades and we're still in shock at how much we've improved since exam 1! Woohoo!
Have a great summer!
