As we celebrate the end of the semester, I want to thank you all for a great semester.
I've enjoyed our class discussions and discussions online about Media Law topics throughout the semester. Your insight, inquisitiveness and desire to learn were greatly appreciated by me. After all, I can't do what I do if it weren't for you.
For my face-to-face class (MW and TTh), I am especially grateful that we had a place where we could talk about Michael Brown (Ferguson, Missouri) and Eric Garner (New York). I was so impressed with your questions and thoughtful comments about our criminal justice system. These are important issues that aren't going away, so I'm glad we could spend a little time on it.
For my MC 4301 Online course, I'm thankful for the online community that we created. This was my first online only class, and I'm grateful for the experience. I learned a lot and appreciate how my online students engaged with the course material.
Congratulations to those that are graduating today. I'll be at graduation today, and most likely in May and August, so I'll be cheering you on, whenever you graduate.
Much thanks to those that submitted class critique essays. I look forward to reading the essays and using them to improve.
Lastly, this is always a bittersweet time of the semester for me
because, like you, I am weary from the semester and need my rest, but I
also know that I'll miss you and our discussions. I'm sure something
will happen in the news that will make me pause and think to myself, "I
can't wait to share this with my class... oh, wait." Sad face.
But let's not end on a downer! It's been a lot of fun this semester.
Thanks for your participation. Best wishes for a great winter break and
beyond!
