As we celebrate the end of the fall semester, I want to thank you all for a great semester.
I've
enjoyed our class discussions and discussions online about Media Law
topics throughout the semester. Your insight, inquisitiveness and desire
to learn were greatly appreciated by me. After all, I can't do what I
do if it weren't for you.
Congratulations to
those that are graduating tomorrow. If you're still around Old Main next semester, I hope you visit me from time to time.
Much thanks to those that submitted class critique essays. I look forward to reading the essays and using them to improve.
Lastly, this is always a strange and bittersweet time: strange because I enjoy being in the classroom with my students; bittersweet because I
also know that I'll miss you and our discussions. I'm sure something
will happen in the news that will make me pause and think to myself, "I
can't wait to share this with my class... oh, wait." Sad face.
And, we had our hands full this semester talking about some of the major events of the day. From the TV journalists in Virginia gunned down on live morning television, to the shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado, to the student photojournalist who clashed with protesters and a communication professor at the University of Missouri, to the terrorist attacks in Paris.
We live in strange and challenging times. The need for educated people with critical thinking is needed more than ever.
But let's end on a positive note! It's been a lot of fun this semester.
Thanks for your participation. Hope you have a great holiday break.

We'll miss you too! See you next semester some time!
I think I enjoyed the class discussions more than anyone which is why I spoke up so much.
When I start me Masters program I will definitely come and say hello from time to time, not to just say hello but to pick your brain.
Even though I didn't think this would be, it was my favorite class this semester. Thanks for being such a great instructor. Enjoy the holidays!

Thank you Professor Martinez for an awesome semester! I definitely enjoyed Media Law and you made it so fun and engaging!
Thank you for being such an inspirational professor! It's refreshing to have such a caring, knowledgeable and understandable professor toward your students. Merry Christmas if I don't see you!
Dr. Martinez,
Thanks for the farewell note. Once again, I really enjoyed your class albeit trying to squeeze it all in while running my business.
When schedules align, I'd love to sit in on one of your class sessions as we, of course, did not get a chance to do that in the online course.
Have a great holiday season and Go Cowboys! We're still in it to win it!
